Executive Director
Mr. Scott Carothers is the Executive Director for Lighthouse Public Schools in San Antonio, Texas. He holds a Master's degree in Educational Administration from West Texas A&M University with a minor in Adolescent Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Human Development, and Business Development. While attending West Texas A&M University, Mr. Carothers completed his post-baccalaureate teaching certification in speech, theater arts, and business composite. He has completed his Superintendent certification in Texas and currently is Texas certified as a 6-12 Classroom Teacher and PK-12 Principal. Additionally, he has trained in Lone Star Governance for School Boards and Leadership Teams and is a trainer for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
With 28 years of teaching and administrative experience, Mr. Carothers has been involved with all grade levels, focusing on curriculum and leadership development. He has presented leadership coaching sessions at the Texas Public Charter Schools Association (TPCSA) Annual Conference, Education Service Center Regions 1 (Rio Grande Valley), 17 (Lubbock Area), and 19 (El Paso Area), and for Triumph Public High Schools.
Exceptional school leaders are changing the narrative of what is possible in schools simply by focusing on how they use their time: what they do and how and when they do it. Mr. Carothers' passion is collaborating with teachers and administrators to improve skills in instructional coaching. He has successfully led the transformation of systems from low-performing to high performance organizations throughout Texas. This transformation is always focused on changing adult behavior and practice through job-embedded ongoing coaching and feedback. Growing reflective leaders and teachers is his primary mission in education.
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Mr. Carothers currently resides in Boerne, Texas and loves to spend time watching TikToks and playing with his dogs, Blue and Charlie.
