About Me

My role at Lighthouse

Special Education Aide that supports teachers in providing educational assistance to students with disabilities. Helps with classroom management, implements individualized education plans (IEPs), and provides one-on-one or small group instruction. The aide also helps students with daily activities, including personal care, and ensures a safe and supportive learning environment. Collaboration with teachers, therapists, and parents is essential to address the unique needs of each student and promote their academic and social development.

Also, I've had the privilege of serving as the Student Council Advisor for the past four years. In this role, I've guided and mentored student leaders, helping them develop their leadership skills, plan events, and promote a positive school culture. Watching students grow in confidence and take the initiative in creating a vibrant and inclusive community has been incredibly rewarding. My experience as an advisor has reinforced my belief in the power of student voice and the importance of fostering a supportive environment where every student can thrive.

My time at Lighthouse

I began my journey in education 11 years ago, dedicating my first six years to working as a Physical Education Aide. During this time, I developed a passion for helping students achieve their physical best, fostering a love for fitness and well-being in young minds. Seeking to make a broader impact, I transitioned to the role of Special Education Aide, where I have spent the past four years. In this position, I have had the privilege of supporting students with disabilities, working closely with teachers to implement individualized education plans, and providing one-on-one or small-group instruction. My experience has deepened my commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
