Jacob Abrego

Hello! I am Mr. Abrego and I am one of the first grade teachers here at Lighthouse. I will be teaching English language arts, reading, math, science, social studies, and much more. We at Lighthouse will be using Amplify and Eureka for our curriculum in ELAR and math. We will be working with Zearn, a math program that will allow students to work through different problems at their own pace which will be monitored by me. We will also be working with another program called Boost that will allow students to work on building their language skills through educational games which just like Zearn will also be monitored by me. This is going to be an amazing year filled with exciting moments for all of us and I can't wait for you to be a part of it!

As much as I love being in the classroom there's plenty of things that I love outside of the classroom as well! The first two things that come to mind is that I love to cook and stay as active as possible. Being able to cook is something I fell in love with and trying all types of different recipes is always exciting. Making recipes from around the world lets me experience the different flavors that come from that culture which to me is very important. I especially love anything and everything that's spicy! With all that food fueling my body it gives me the energy I need to exercise and lead a healthy lifestyle. Being able to workout is like therapy to me and allows me to live a healthy lifestyle. My favorite form of staying active though is going to the batting cages and spending as long as I can there.
