Lighthouse Public Schools is a tuition-free charter school in San Antonio, Texas β€” home of the Seahawks. We opened in August 2003, and have degreed, certified, and highly qualified administrators, teachers, and paraprofessionals. All students are encouraged to excel in their academic studies through a variety of teaching methods. All students and staff are treated with dignity and respect in a safe environment.  Lighthouse Public Schools is also proud to be a 2024-2025 Texas Purple Star Designated District.

Learning Alive Camp

Get ready for a wild adventure!
Lighthouse Public Schools invites all incoming 1st and 2nd grade students to Learning Alive, a 3-day camp that brings learning to life through curiosity, nature, and live animal experiences!

πŸ—“ Dates: Monday, July 28 – Wednesday, July 30
πŸ•˜ Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily
πŸ“ Location: Lighthouse Public Schools

Campers will explore the wonders of the natural world through hands-on learning, interactive lessons, and up-close encounters with live animals. From creepy crawlers to furry friends, every day will spark excitement and inspire a love of discovery!

Here are the School Supply Lists for the New School Year

Here are the school supply list for the 2025-2026 school year. There are numerous sales out there where you can save some money. Don't delay. because stores do run out of school supplies at the cheaper prices very quickly. If you purchased through 1st Day School Supplies.....YOU ARE DONE! Your child's school supplies are being delivered to the school in the first week of August just before school begins.

Learning fractions can be hard......but not when you are using PIZZA. What fun we had in truly understanding fractions while enjoying some pizza at Camp Innovate.

Strawberry DNA Extraction

Science is ALIVE!
Camp Innovate 4th and 5th graders participated in a Strawberry DNA Extraction lab. This is an exciting lab focused on how to extract DNA from fruits. This activity is to stimulate thinking in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). What a fantastic opportunity to expand our learning and ability to innovate and create something new.

DoSeum Visit

Exploration at the DoSeum

During Camp Innovate, LPS rising 4th and 5th grade students had the opportunity to visit the DoSeum which is one of the top children's museums in the country. They were able to explore, interact, and innovate during the visit. They had the special opportunity to engage explore Emotions at Play with Disney's Inside Out exhibit.

During Camp Innovate the rising 4th and 5th grades had the opportunity visit San Antonio Central Library and participate in one of there many summer activities.
Mitchell Lake Audubon Center Visit

Camp Innovate 2nd Graders Visit Mitchell Lake Audubon

rising second grade class visited the Mitchell lake Audubon Center to extend their learning from their author study in The Tales Our Abuelitas Told Us, the students encounter many different birds of different colors. Today, they were able to learn more about birds and their habitats through this exciting field trip in the heard of a nature preserve!

Our rising Kindergarten students have been working hard on classifying items by different attributes and what better way to do that than through classifying different experiments. they have investigated sounds, intensity, size, shape, and movement through at least two experiments every day!
Dunkin Donuts Visit to LPS

Summer School Treats

We brought Dunkin Donuts free sample truck to campus for our middle and highs school students. Everyone received samples of their Strawberry Dragonfruit refresher and $5 gift cards for all their hard work this summer.

3rd Grade Poetry Slam @ Camp Innovate

Third grade has been studying poetry as part of their reader's theater fluency activities! This past week they took their learning one step further and wrote their own "I Am" Poems and shared them at their very own poetry slam. Grade job third grade!

2025-2026 Registration is Open

Registration is now open for 2025-2026 school year. To guarantee your child a seat next year, please visit the link attached to re-enroll your child.
If you are familiar with the Parent Portal and your child is linked to your account you will be able to locate your child and click on "resume registration".
If you are not familiar with Parent Portal or need assistance, please contact Ms. Apolonia Bocanegra at 210-236-7693 Ext. 2006.She will be able to help you with any and all questions about pre-registration.

What Makes You Sneeze?

First grade is reading "Pigs make me Sneeze" by Mo Willems as part of their author study. This past week they decided to test out what would make them sneeze!

2nd Grade Camping @ Camp Innovate

Second grade has been reading about camping trips all summer! This week they took a hike, set up a little campsite, and made smores using solar power!!!!!! Absolutely DEKICIOUS!
3rd Grade Market Day

3rd Grade Market Day @ Camp Innovate

Third grade has been working on money, making change, products, and consumers! To help illustrate this, they transformed their classroom into a market space complete with their own products. Second and six grade had the opportunity to go and shop and give them the practice of a real life market!

Student Results are Available!
High School EOC- Today, 6/11
3rd-8th- Wednesday, 6/17

Parents should have received an email with your child/children's unique access codes. If you did not receive an email, it is because we didn't have one on file and the code was sent to your child's lighthouse email account.

Follow the steps below to access the test results:
1. Go to Texas Assessment Website
2. If not already on it, click on the student/families tab at the top of the page.
3. Scroll down until you see the "View Your Child's Test Results" and Family Portal Box on the right hand side.
4. Enter your unique access code and your child's other identifying information.

Your results should appear!

2025 Yearbooks Are Here!

2025 yearbooks are on sale for $25.00 starting Wednesday, June 4, 2025, while supplies last. We will be selling yearbooks during Carline/Dismissal time and also during MS/HS lunch. This is the first yearbook for LPS and it is amazing. Full color and great pictures. Congratulations to our LPS Yearbook Team for a great yearbook.

On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Freeman Coliseum, Mrs. Crystal Zavala earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from Texas A&M University–San Antonio.

Also on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Freeman Coliseum, Mr. Alex Gonzales received his Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Development with a focus in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-San Antonio.
